Our Mission
The University at Albany and Albany Law School Affiliation advance each institution’s educational and research objectives in professional and legal education and the disciplines that guide them through collaborations that leverage each institution’s strengths and support the goals of each; that provide distinctive academic opportunities for students and faculty; and that support student access and success.
Our Vision
The University at Albany and Albany Law School Affiliation is recognized in the Capital Region, state and nation as a powerful model for collaboration to advance legal and professional education, research, student and faculty success, and institutional effectiveness.
Our Goals
- Increase the enrollment of students at both institutions interested in legal education;
- Support students success and retention through the Affiliation pipeline;
- Expand inter-institutional engagement by students from both institutions in academic and co-curriculum initiatives;
- Increase scholarly collaborations between faculty of the two institutions and attract additional external funding for both institutions;
- Expand the number of mutually available courses and collaborative degree options and increase the number of students enrolled in them;
- Advance ongoing dialogue of critical legal and social issues; and,
- Explore and create inter-institutional opportunities to improve operations efficiencies and effectiveness and mutual sharing of administrative expertise.
