As COVID-19 highlights food system deficiencies and raises concerns related to processing, distribution, and demand of food, the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research (FFAR) provided supplemental funding to Feeding America and five Tipping Point Program awardees.
UAlbany’s team (PI: Dr. Beth Feingold and Dr. Xiaobo X. Romeiko)–as part of the Tipping Point Program–received a $99,987 award, which is being used to study how the fresh produce recovery and redistribution arm of the Capital Region food system is absorbing the shock resulting from COVID-19.
