Resources for Community Organizations

  • Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ): This U.S. Department of Health and Human Services agency produces evidence to make healthcare higher quality, safer, more accessible, more equitable and more affordable.
  • CDC Foundation: This independent nonprofit, which supports the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), offers resources for community-based organizations.
  • Kaiser Family Foundation: This nonpartisan organization is an independent source for research, polling and journalism on health policy, including racial equity and health policy. 
  • National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD): This National Institutes of Health (NIH) institute invests in research and fosters collaborations and partnerships to promote and support evidence-based science to inform practice and policy.  
  • New York State Department of Health: This state agency offers resources for community-based organizations.
  • Office on Women’s Health: This U.S. Department of Health and Human Services office focuses on improving the health and well-being of women and girls in the United States.  
  • Robert Wood Johnson Foundation: This American philanthropic organization is the largest of its kind focused solely on health.
  • United Way: This privately funded charity — one of the largest in the world — focuses on boosting education, economic mobility, and health resources through public, private and nonprofit partnerships.
