Earlier this year, Sheridan - a student-athlete majoring in both chemistry and math - shared what she enjoys most at UAlbany from her favorite class and professor to her proudest accomplishment.
Professor Michael Yeung and his class Physical Chemistry. So far, I really enjoy the enthusiasm of this professor and I'm excited for the advanced lab coursework.
I really enjoy the campus center, there's plenty of spaces to hang out and I like to switch up the locations where I do work on campus. Sometimes I like to sit where it's a bit busier but when I want a quieter space I can find that too.
My proudest accomplishment is being a division 1 athlete, both a chemistry and a math major, and completing undergraduate research on campus. I think I've really been able to take advantage of all that UAlbany has to offer to challenge myself in and outside of the classroom and more importantly to grow as a person and help myself become a good job candidate.
Living on Indian Quad with all the other freshmen was a really memorable experience my first year. It was great to live with strangers who grew to become some of my closest friends and then to experience all of the craziness of freshmen year together. During one of the first snowfalls, a huge snowball fight broke out in the middle of the quad and it was so much fun.
I will be graduating this spring and then attending Virginia Commonwealth University to pursue a Master of Science in Chemistry.
