About Parent Giving
The UAlbany Fund is an opportunity to invest in your child’s home away from home. Donations to the UAlbany Fund are used to enhance the quality of student life and support programs that directly benefit your child’s experience on campus.
Tuition, fees, and state assistance provide less than half the revenue needed to cover the University’s annual operating costs. That’s why donations from our parents are so important in making up that difference. By making a gift to the UAlbany Fund, you will be joining a rich tradition of parents investing in their children’s UAlbany experience and future achievements.
Gifts to the UAlbany Fund support programs such as:
Parents Fund - A particular vote of confidence in the University and its leadership, unrestricted gifts to the Parents Fund support areas on campus where student need is greatest.
Student Life Fund - This fund is dedicated to providing transformational experiences such as career and professional development, and community engagement opportunities; as well as day-to-day enrichment of campus of life at UAlbany through health and fitness programming and special events such as the Speaker Series and Great Dane Game Day.
Student Engagement and Living-Learning Communities - These support once in a lifetime opportunities for incoming and current freshman to immerse themselves in a community of students and faculty that share their interests, as well as the upperclassmen leaders who work alongside them.
UAlbany Cares - This designation includes three funds that support our students in times of need. The Emergency Relief Fund provides funding to students facing a financial emergency. The Purple Pantry addresses food insecurity among UAlbany students. Purple Threads is a free professional clothing closet available to current students.
Your tax-deductible gift to the UAlbany Fund, no matter what the amount, provides the extra level of support that underlies an amazing UAlbany experience. You can make a gift online or over the phone toll-free at 1-800-577-7869.
