Maggie Gates Kuliszewski, ScD, is an Research Associate Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, College of Integrated Health Sciences, University at Albany, State University of New York. Dr. Gates received a Doctor of Science in epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health in 2007 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in epidemiology at Harvard University and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 2010. She is also a Research Scientist in the Bureau of Cancer Epidemiology and the New York State Cancer Registry at the New York State Department of Health.
Dr. Gates has over 20 years of experience working in cancer research, including cancer clinical trials, epidemiologic analyses of cancer, and research and evaluation of cancer screening programs. She has extensive experience analyzing large data sets, including the Nurses’ Health Studies, Veterans Affairs electronic medical records, the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, the New York State Cancer Services Program database, Medicaid claims data, and the New York State Cancer Registry. She has published over 30 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, including over 20 manuscripts with a focus on cancer. Her research interests include cancer epidemiology and prevention, modifiable risk factors for breast and ovarian cancer, cancer disparities, and cancer outcomes.
