Rockefeller Rises In National Rankings
Improving two places, Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy at the University at Albany has once again been recognized among the nation’s top graduate programs for public affairs by U.S. News & World Report.
Rockefeller College was listed 21st overall within the rankings for the U.S. News & World Report 2020 Best Graduate Public Affairs Programs. The College was also recognized for excellence in a number of individual public affairs specialties. Rockefeller was ranked:
- 4th in Information and Technology Management
- 12th in Homeland Security and Emergency Management
- 13th in Public Management and Administration
- 14th in Nonprofit Management
- 17th in Public Finance and Budgeting
- 34th in Public Policy Analysis

The U.S. News rankings of public affairs programs, completed in 2019, are based solely on peer assessment survey results. In fall 2018, U.S. News surveyed deans, directors and department chairs representing 285 master's programs in public affairs and administration. Two surveys were sent to each school and there was a response rate of 52 percent.
Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy at the University at Albany has consistently been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation's premier schools of public affairs. The College offers undergraduate- and graduate-level study in public administration, public policy, international affairs, and political science.
