The Department of Music and Theatre

Students from UAlbany's Music and Theatre Department perform.

The Department of Music and Theatre is the academic resident of the UAlbany Performing Arts Center. The Department’s concerts and productions come to life on the PAC stages and our facility is home to the Department's faculty offices, academic classes, music and theater libraries, and rehearsals. The Department also utilizes our scene and costume shop. Information about the Department’s offerings for the season can be found on the Department website.

Since 2008, the Capital Trio has been the ensemble-in-residence at the UAlbany Performing Arts Center. Formed in 1997 as the Cecilia Piano Trio, the threesome adopted their current name to reflect their new incarnation.

Comprised of pianist Duncan Cumming, violinist Hilary Cumming and cellist Şölen Dikener, the artists perform regularly in the PAC, in the Capital Region community, and along the Eastern seaboard. Every year, they participate in an artist exchange program sponsored by the Department.
