Welcome to Alumni Quad
Alumni Quad is primarily home to our juniors and seniors, including transfer students.
Conveniently located in Albany’s Pine Hills neighborhood on Western Avenue, Alumni Quad is just minutes away from the University’s Downtown Campus, which includes:
- Dewey Graduate Library
- College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering
- Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy
- School of Criminal Justice
- School of Social Welfare
Alden and Waterbury Halls have spacious, traditional corridor-style double rooms, with communal bathrooms centrally located on each floor.
A Resident Director (RD), Assistant Resident Directors (ARD) and Resident Assistants (RA) live on site and serve as a resource for students.

Alumni Quad Amenities
- Dining Hall: Any student with a meal plan can eat at the Waterbury Café, which is in Waterbury Hall.
- Vending Machines: Vending machines are available in Waterbury Hall.
- Study Lounges: Study lounges are on the second and third floors of Alden and Waterbury Halls.
- Furniture: Each student has an extra-long twin mattress and bed frame, desk and chair, closet, and dresser.
- Laundry: Laundry rooms are available in the basement of each building.
- Water Bottle Filling Station: All Alumni Quad residents can access the water bottle filling station, which is located in Waterbury Hall, near the exit leading to Alden Hall.
- Fitness Equipment: Alumni Quad residents can access cardio machines, located in the Waterbury Transfer Lounge in Waterbury Hall, when the Quad Information Center is open.
- Utilities: Heat, water, electricity, trash and internet are included.
- Bus Stop: CDTA’s Route 10 stops at Waterbury Hall, as well as UAlbany’s Uptown Campus and Downtown Campus, Crossgates Mall and Stuyvesant Plaza. Students can use their UAlbany ID cards to access CDTA buses for free.
- Parking: Students with a valid parking permit can park in the Sayles Student Lot.
- Recess Housing: Recess Housing is available in Alden and Waterbury Halls.

- Monday through Friday: 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Saturday & Sunday: 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Special hours of operation are posted during summer term, Intersession, holidays and when classes are not in session.
