Faculty Expertise and Achievement
Marisa Lester teaches managerial accounting and accounting information systems courses and enjoys meeting, working with, and motivating students to broaden their understanding of accounting concepts and career pathways. She has worked in industry in both public and private accounting and draws from those experiences to provide real world examples for classroom discussion. In addition to maintaining her CPA licensure in New York State, she is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), an Adirondack 46er and a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor. She is a two-time graduate of the University at Albany and played #2 and #3 singles on the University’s D1 tennis team while in attendance. Marisa is energized and inspired by her students, and she brings that energy to both her lectures as well as her interactions with students of all levels at the University.
