Massry School of Business Clubs for Undergraduates
When you join the University at Albany Massry School of Business, you get more than a degree. You become part of a community of students, faculty, staff and alumni. What you do outside of the classroom is as important as what happens within. The wide range of clubs and activities within the school provides opportunities for students to learn more about the fields of business and accounting, prepare for their careers, get involved in community service and meet like-minded students.
The Albany Accounting Association was created in the Fall of 2015 and had its first active semester in the Fall of 2016. We created this group to enhance the accounting knowledge, client relationship management skills and overall interest in accounting for students at the University at Albany. Our main objective is to assist other student groups with their budgeting and other financial decisions in order to ensure the proper and efficient allocation of their funds. To achieve these goals, we offer our members hands on training to ensure quality work with our clients, professional events with accounting firms, and access to numerous members of the accounting faculty in the Massry School of Business. We are still growing and developing as a group and are excited for what the coming semesters will bring.
Created by students for students in 2007, Albany Business Leaders Emerging is the fastest growing student group in the Massry School of Business, offering seminars in career preparation, opportunities for community service, and an investment group. ABLE received the Purple and Gold Award as the Outstanding Pre-Professional & Academic Group in 2011 and 2012. The group is open to all majors.
ASBO is dedicated to exposing students to career opportunities in sports. Open to all majors, ASBO brings professionals from local and national sports organizations to campus to present to our members. The primary goal is to highlight internship opportunities and allow members to further build their network within the sports/business industry. Career advice is often disseminated at weekly meetings. We as an organization also travel to career fairs and tour sporting venues like Madison Square Garden and Times Union Center.
Beta Alpha Psi is an international honorary organization for accounting students. Each semester recruiters from the Big Four accounting firms, as well as recruiters from mid-sized and local accounting firms, give our chapter exclusive presentations and an opportunity to speak with them one on one afterwards. Members are also involved in various community service activities, and have multiple opportunities for leadership positions within the organization.
The purpose of the Cyber Defense Organization is to help train students in the fundamentals of cybersecurity and digital forensics. Open to students from all majors, we train for different competitions such as the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC) and other local events. We also hold workshops to educate students in cybersecurity and digital forensic practices. CDO is a fun and educational club that accepts everyone.

The Dean’s Leadership Council is a consortium of the leadership of Massry School of Business groups. The DLC not only allows for coordination and an exchange of ideas between clubs, but also hosts career-focused events and offers opportunities for community service.
When you join the Zeta Psi Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi, you become a part of Massry School of Business history. It is the oldest Massry School of Business club, founded in 1967. This business fraternity hosts professional events and raises money for charity. The DSP annually sponsors a highly successful career fair that brings nearly 80 employers to campus, and attracts over 750 students from a variety of majors.
The Digital Forensics Association was founded in 2015 to cater to the professionalism, skill development and networking needs of students in the Digital Forensics program. The group is open to students of all majors and minors who are interested in the digital forensics and cybersecurity fields. If you're interested in technology, growing professionally and developing socially; this is the group for you! We are the Digital Forensics Association, and with us you are in good C.O.M.P.A.N.Y. (Community Opportunity Mentorship Professionalism Assistance and You).
The University at Albany’s ISACA student group attracts young professionals that have a passion for Information Technology, Cyber Security, and Digital Forensics. This group brings a premier selection of students together to join an international organization that focuses of bettering the IT professional. Students are inspired to join in order to further their knowledge through technical workshops, networking, and opportunities to connect with companies ranging from large consulting firms to boutique security companies.
The National Association of Black Accountants expands the influence of minority professionals in the fields of accounting and finance. The UAlbany NABA Chapter offers career targeted workshops, networking platforms, and internship opportunities. The group volunteers in the community, working at a local CPA firm to promote tax services for low-income families and also mentors high school students. Members may attend the NABA Eastern Conference.
The University at Albany Massry School of Business Investment Group (UASBIG) is a student-run investment fund whose activities are sponsored by the Center for Institution Investment Management. The UASBIG common stock portfolio aims to outperform the returns of the S&P 1500 Index. The mission of UASBIG is to assist The University at Albany Foundation in supporting the University at Albany's broad education purpose, with the primary objective being to maximize the value of assets under management with adherence to a sound long-term investment policy.
WEB is an organization designed to be a support system for encouraging members to succeed in their future. This is achieved by improving networking and interviewing skills through several meetings, events, and workshops with professionals. In addition, WEB will organize social and community service events each year for interested students. WEB is open to ALL majors and genders!
Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) is the premier organization with international reach dedicated to bringing together women and their allies in cybersecurity from academia, research and industry to share knowledge, experience, networking and mentoring. WiCyS is a community of engagement, encouragement and support for women in the field of cybersecurity.
