About

Dr. Nelia M. Quezada-Horne is a SUNY PRODiG+ Fellow and Visiting Assistant Professor at the University at Albany School of Social Welfare. Dr. Quezada-Horne's social work practice experience includes roles in state government, at-risk youth programs, foster care, and private practice, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by marginalized communities.

Her research interests center on interventions that enhance social support, and sense of belonging, aiming to address mental and physical health disparities. She investigates anti-racism in social work, social and emotional well-being, and health behaviors, including obesity and nutrition. Through her work, Dr. Quezada-Horne seeks to foster supportive environments that empower urban youth and improve their life trajectories.
