What trainings does Five Quad offer?
Five Quad Volunteer Ambulance Service is proud to offer the following courses to the UAlbany campus community and local community:
- CPR & First Aid Certification Course: Become CPR and First Aid certified through the American Heart Association. Participants will learn how to perform chest compressions, how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in the event of a cardiac arrest, basic first aid practices and what to do in the event of several common emergencies. This course lasts about four and a half hours and is free to UAlbany-recognized student organizations (as funding permits). Where funding does not permit, the associated fee shall be limited to the cost of the certification card as determined by the American Heart Association.
- Hands-only CPR Course: Participants will learn how to perform hands-only CPR (chest compressions). This course is free and lasts between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on how many participants are involved. Note: This course is only available to current UAlbany students and employees.
- Stop the Bleed Course: Participants will learn how to control bleeding in an emergency. This course lasts about two hours and is free.
Requests for training must be made at least two weeks before the intended event. All requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to Five Quad’s availability.
