The University at Albany continues to be recognized for its exceptional graduate schools, earning top marks in the newly released 2025 U.S. News & World Report rankings. Programs featured in the rankings this year include Public Affairs, Public Health, Education, Business, and Engineering, demonstrating UAlbany remains a leader in preparing the next generation of scholars and professionals.

UAlbany graduate student researcher Carly Sutter is collaborating with the New York State Department of Transportation to develop a new tool that utilizes machine learning models to improve situational awareness of road surface conditions across the state.

The University at Albany will host its 15th annual "Out of the Darkness" walk on Saturday, April 12 at the Uptown Campus Entry Plaza. Coordinated by UAlbany’s Office of Health Promotion, the event promotes mental health among children and young adults to reduce the stigma around seeking treatment.

Steve Zelin has had a remarkable journey on the way to becoming a leader in the corporate world. Zelin recalled the steps that led him from growing up in Brooklyn to coming UAlbany to earn his bachelor's degree and then rising through the ranks of the accounting and banking industries over the course of his 40-year career at the eighth annual Massry Lecture on Friday, April 4.

A new college and associated research center will support the development of new discipline-specific, AI-focused majors, minors and microcredentials that build on the expansive existing programs in UAlbany’s nine schools and colleges.

UAlbany alumnus Marvin Rodriguez's journey from a single-parent household to a top accounting position in New York City began with exploring the programs offered at the Massry School of Business and through the University's Living-Learning Communities. Today, Rodriguez is a shining example of why UAlbany has been recognized for the second consecutive year with Insight Into Diversity's Inspiring Programs in Business Award.

The University at Albany welcomed more than 500 children and their families from across the Capital Region and beyond on Sunday for STEM and Earth Sciences Family Day, in celebration of Earth Day 2025.
