Faculty Expertise and Achievement
Dr. Jungwon Kuem specializes in researching the online users' behaviors in IT contexts, including online communities, social networking sites, smartphone addiction, and security concerns like phishing and cyberloafing. Her work significantly contributes to the field of Information Systems (IS) by introducing new theoretical perspective that shed light on the reasons behind these user behaviors and their resulting impacts. In the past three years, she has achieved remarkable success with the publication of six papers in prestigious Information Systems journals. These publications include the Journal of Management Information Systems, which is recognized among the Financial Times Top 50 (FT 50) journals, as well as the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, the European Journal of Information Systems, and Decision Sciences. It's worth noting that all these journals hold an A* rating in the ABDC journal ranking list, which is widely respected in the academic community, particularly among business schools, for evaluating journal quality. In addition to her scholarly accomplishments, Dr. Kuem was received the Frap-A Award in 2021.
