University Hall - Post Indicator Valve (PIV) Replacement

Work Alert Notification

Dear Members of the UAlbany Community,

Please be advised of the following work occurring on the Uptown Campus. This work is necessary to replace University Hall’s post indicator valve, a component of the building’s sprinkler system. During this time, work will result in a disturbance to the building’s water supply (Saturday, October 12, 2024 ONLY), campus landscaping, walking surfaces, parking and roadways.

Work is expected to begin on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 5:00 PM and is expected to be completed by Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 7:00 PM.

Reserved parking will be affected along Carillon Drive East beginning Thursday October 10, 2024, after 5:00PM and lasting the duration of the project. Excavation of the valve will begin Friday October 11, 2024, creating noise which may be heard from offices located on the South side of University Hall. The valve is scheduled to be replaced on Saturday October 12, 2024, and will require the building’s domestic water to be shut off, leaving rest rooms and water fountains unable to be utilized.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this work, please contact the project manager, Eric Fletcher, at [email protected] or at 518-442-3367.
