Uptown Campus - Critical Repair

Work Alert Notification

Dear Members of the UAlbany Community,

Please be advised of the following work occurring on the Uptown Campus over Columbus Day Weekend. This work is critically necessary to repair a High Temperature Leak in the Power Plant before the winter season.

This work will require a complete shutdown to repair and will affect all heating on Campus throughout the duration of the work.  This work will impact all domestic hot water and heat.  As the system warrants time to cool off before work can begin, the shutdown will start the evening of Friday, 10/11 and be completed by Sunday 10/13, with the holiday Monday, 10/14 as contingency time if needed.

The University's community should expect no heating and no domestic hot water during this timeframe in the Uptown Campus buildings.

Exceptions:
LSRB will be supported locally for both heating and domestic hot water.  ITB, Broadview, Boor Sculpture Studio, Freedom, Empire Commons, Liberty Terrance, and State and Indigenous Dining Rooms will have domestic hot water.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this work, please contact the project manager, David Huber- Central Plant Manager, at [email protected] or at 518-442-3148.
