Window Cleaning - Various Locations

Work Alert Notification

Dear Members of the UAlbany Community,

Please be advised of the following work occurring on the windows of University Hall, Casey Stadium, Broadview Center, and Campus Center West Extension. This work is necessary to support the building window maintenance and prevent glass deterioration from dirt and grime buildup.
Work is expected to begin on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 8:00 AM and is expected to be completed by Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 4:00 PM. Here is a tentative schedule for each of the buildings.  Keep in mind weather will play a significant factor in maintaining this timeline:

Window cleaning to prevent glass deterioration from dirt and grime buildup

Critical Work Description or Scope:

•    Inspect the condition of windows prior to cleaning.
•    Remove any items obstructing access to windows.
•    Protect adjacent surfaces (e.g., flooring, walls) from water or cleaning agents.
•    Ensure safety measures are in place, including fall protection systems for high-rise cleaning.
•    Use of water-fed pole systems and aerial lifts for high windows.
•    Apply glass cleaner and soapy water to remove grime.
•    Squeegee off cleaning solution, wiping down edges with a microfiber cloth to avoid streaks.
•    Dry windowsills and frames.
•    Conduct a thorough inspection of all cleaned windows.
•    Ensure all glass surfaces are free of streaks, smudges, and residues.
