Technology at Home
Grades: 4 & up. In another of its many outstanding sites, PBS presents a tour of twentieth-century technological advances for the home. For example, as the years pass, users see (and read about) the gramophone being replaced by the early electric phonograph, which is replaced by the stereographic phonograph, which is then replaced by the CD player.

ThinkQuest Library
This site contains unique educational web sites that have been created through ThinkQuest competitions and programs. The library currently contains more than 5,000 web sites built by kids for kids to use and learn. It is also a great place to get ideas for your own project in one of the many programs around the world.

The Thinker
The Thinker, website of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Comprised of the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park and the Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park, we are the largest public arts institution in the City of San Francisco and one of the largest art museums in the United States.

TrackStar
Provides an easy way to guide a user (student) through a set of pre-selected sites. TrackStar enables the teacher to make a list of sites that is always visible and accessible to the user throughout the entire lesson. Annotations or comments accompany every site.  Another great feature is a continuously updated database of "Tracks" that allows viewing tracks by "grade" or by "subject."

Turtles - EuroTurtle
Europe's first Sea Turle Biology & Conservation Web Site for science and education. Since its launch in 1997 EuroTurtle has had strong links with Environmental Education. Within EuroTurtle, there are a number of curriculum-linked activities which have been designed to increase awareness about the conservation issues facing Marine Turtles whilst the conservation section of EuroTurtle provides a rich resource bank for these educational activities.

The Twentieth Century
This multimedia-rich site connects young historians to the 20th century through articles, photos and video clips produced by the Associated Press. Each year from 1900 to 2000 is drawn out in a single, well-written article, offering students an overview of the past century they won't find anywhere else. Award-winning photos accompany the text, along with short video clips of the Wright Brothers' flight (1903), the beginning of World War II (1939), the civil rights movement (1963), all the way through President Clinton's impeachment (1998).

The Two Nations of Black America
This PBS Frontline special explores the difference in black experience  between the 1960s and the 1990s, with a focus on the growing class divide within Black America. Included is an essay by Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and interviews with such figures as Eldridge Cleaver, Quincy Jones, and Angela Davis.
