Grades: 4 & up. In another of its many outstanding sites, PBS
presents a tour of twentieth-century technological advances for
the home. For example, as the years pass, users see (and read about)
the gramophone being replaced by the early electric phonograph,
which is replaced by the stereographic phonograph, which is then
replaced by the CD player.

This site contains unique educational web sites that have been created
through ThinkQuest competitions and programs. The library currently
contains more than 5,000 web sites built by kids for kids to use
and learn. It is also a great place to get ideas for your own project
in one of the many programs around the world.

- EuroTurtle
Europe's first Sea Turle Biology & Conservation Web Site for
science and education. Since its launch in 1997 EuroTurtle has had
strong links with Environmental Education. Within EuroTurtle, there
are a number of curriculum-linked activities which have been designed
to increase awareness about the conservation issues facing Marine
Turtles whilst the conservation section of EuroTurtle provides a
rich resource bank for these educational activities.
The
Twentieth Century
This multimedia-rich site connects young historians to the 20th
century through articles, photos and video clips produced by the
Associated Press. Each year from 1900 to 2000 is drawn out in a
single, well-written article, offering students an overview of the
past century they won't find anywhere else. Award-winning photos
accompany the text, along with short video clips of the Wright Brothers'
flight (1903), the beginning of World War II (1939), the civil rights
movement (1963), all the way through President Clinton's impeachment
(1998).

This PBS Frontline special explores the difference in black experience
between the 1960s and the 1990s, with a focus on the growing class
