Supplemental Degree Programs

What are supplemental degrees?

Students in the higher degree level can typically request a supplemental degree in a subordinate degree within their department without needing to go through the full admissions process again.

For example, students in the Economics PhD program can request supplemental degrees in the Economics MA program.

If you have questions, please contact your academic department. You may also wish to review the Graduate Bulletin for more information about program requirements.

How do I apply?

If the degree program is within your current academic department, please submit the Supplemental Program Application and the $20 fee. You will receive an email once your application is processed.

If a degree program is not listed below your primary program on this page, you must submit a standard Graduate School admissions application.

Note: Additional supplemental degree options may be available to students with specific licenses, certifications and degrees or who have declared specific concentrations. Please contact your department to learn more about your options.

For supplemental programs not managed by your primary program's academic department, please contact the supplemental program's academic department for course advisement.
